Tasaheel, Bil’in, West Bank

Tasaheel is the wife of activist Iyad Burnat and is the loving mother of their five children. She and Iyad host visitors at their home in Bil’in to educate them about the occupation and the struggle of Palestinians. Her husband is the head of the Bil’in Popular Committee against the Wall and has led weekly non-violent demonstrations since 2005. Besides the local community, international peace activists as well as Israeli citizens protest together. Iyad travels around the world speaking about the situation in Palestine. The steadfast peaceful resistance of the villagers of Bil’in resulted in the decision by Israel’s high court to partially remove the wall in the village which is an unprecedented move and serves as inspiration for other areas of the West Bank.
