The Littlest Protester, Manger Square, Bethlehem

This little boy stood amongst a crowd in Manger Square, during a peaceful protest against ISIS and the brutal murder of a Jordanian fighter pilot. He was so tiny and standing at the center of the circle, with everyone holding signs and candles. On one side, the crowd was flanked by the bell tower of the Nativity Church where Jesus was supposed to have been born, and on the other side of the crowd was the tall minarette of the local Mosque, both located right in the heart of Bethlehem. The message was clear…that Palestinians no matter the gender, the religion, the age, etc. stood together in solidarity against violence. He was the sweetness at the center of it all. This image along with the rest included in this post were published by Ma’an News Agency, on their online news website. These were my first published photographs.

A little Palestinian boy was standing at the center of a protest against ISIS and the brutal killing of the Jordanian fighter pilot who had been burned to death. It was a peaceful and rare to see a child out like that in the evening...but it was a show of solidarity by different groups of Palestinians, standing in common cause against the murder.
